Home made or from a proper Pub or something it's rather nice. Can't imagine something made by heinz and put in a can wold be any good. And you MUST serve it with custard.

I tried it a few years ago. Took a while to warm up to the idea of sponge cake-like stuff in a can. IIRC it wasn't bad though.

HA! The day I moved into my first dorm as a freshmen I went grocery shopping. Naturally, when I saw Spotted Dick, I had to buy it to decorate my new home. It went with me to 2 other college homes and is still classing it up at my last house.
